How does your interior design service work?
There are two distinct parts to our service: consultation and design.
The consultation takes place when I come to visit you in your home. We will then spend time together discussing your requirements, for me to get to know your style and how you see yourself using your room. The consultation usually takes around 1½ to 2 hours per room. This is the time to talk about your ideas and any existing items or furniture you would like to incorporate into the design. For this, the charge is £75 per room plus VAT.
Following on from this discussion, I will spend time researching, planning and designing your scheme. I source all the items required to bring it together; incorporating, for example, floor and wall finishes, furniture, window dressings and lighting. I then create a detailed presentation so that I can explain to you as clearly as possible the ideas that I have had for your room. This presentation will include drawings: usually a floor plan and an elevation or 3-dimensional drawing; plus samples and photographs of the items suggested.
The charge for the design presentation is £150 per room plus VAT.
What if I don’t like the design?
Hopefully our discussion would have been detailed enough at the time of the consultation so that I have a good idea of your taste and so any tweaks to the design can be done without any further charge.
What happens next?
Once you have approved the design, I will then proceed to price up the job. This includes asking my various sub-contractors to visit the site to estimate for their part of the job; for example builders, decorators, curtain makers, carpet fitters, plumbers and electricians. You will then receive a detailed Item Estimate, showing you the cost for each item and the total for the job.
What if we want to do the work ourselves?
That is fine. Once you have bought the design, you are welcome to bring in your own contractors and I will be happy to supply any items you need at a normal retail price.

What other services do you offer?
I can offer an ‘Accompanied Shopping’ service, when we can go on a shopping trip to choose the perfect item: anything from a sofa to a kitchen. For this I charge for my time by the half day (£75 for 4 hours).
Also I can arrange a complete ‘House Doctor’ service to dress your home and get it looking its best to show potential buyers when it is time to sell.
