Q:

How does your interior design service work?

A:

There are two distinct parts to our service:

The consultation takes place when I come to visit you in your home or place of business. I will then spend time with you to discuss your requirements, and get to know your style and how you see yourself using your room. The consultation will take approximately 1½ to 2 hours per room, depending on the intricacy of the design and the size of the space. This is the time to let me know about the items you would like to incorporate into the design, and any ideas you may have thought about.

Following this discussion, I will spend time researching and planning your scheme. I will design the scheme and source all the items required to bring it together. Using samples and pictures of these items, I will put together a presentation so that I can explain to you as clearly as possible the ideas that I have had. This presentation will include drawings: maybe in plan form for space planning, and in elevation or 3-dimensions; and samples and photographs of the items specified.

Q:

What are the fees?

A:

There is a charge of £50.00 per room (plus VAT) for the consultation, which is payable at the time of the Consultation; and £100.00 per room (plus VAT) for the Design, which is due after you have received the design.

Q:

What if I don’t like the design?

A:

Hopefully our discussion would have been detailed enough at the time of the consultation so that I do not get it completely wrong (!) and so any tweaks to the design can be done without any further charge.

Q:

What happens next?

A:

Once you have approved the design, I will then proceed to price up the job. This includes asking my various sub-contractors to visit the site to estimate for their part of the job; for example builders, decorators, curtain makers, carpet fitters, plumbers and electricians. You will then receive a detailed Item Estimate, showing you the cost for each item and the total for the job.

Q:

What if we want to do the work ourselves?

A:

That is fine. Once you have paid me for the design, you are welcome to indulge in a little DIY, or bring in your own contractors, and I will be happy to supply any items you need at a normal retail price.

Q:

What other services do you offer?

A:

I can offer an ‘Accompanied Shopping’ service, when I come with you to a shop to help choose the perfect item, anything from a sofa to a kitchen. For this I charge for my time by the half day (£100 for 4 hours).

Also I can arrange a complete ‘House Doctor’ service to get your home looking its best to show potential buyers when it is time to sell.

Anything related to the inside of your home, office, shop, restaurant, etc can be arranged – just give me a call.
